At 29 feet, it’s more day boat than yacht, but that doesn’t make the Hinkley Dasher Electric Yacht any less impressive. It uses dual batteries sourced from BMW’s i3 line to power twin 80hp inboard motors. As quiet as can be, it has a range of 40 mph, a top speed of 28 mph, and can recharge using dual 50-amp charging cables in a little under four hours. The hull is crafted from a carbon-epoxy composite, while the deck is covered in “artisanal teak,” an epoxy composite that’s hand-painted to look like wood while offering a substantial reduction in weight. Other highlights include a striking touchscreen console, a frameless windshield that raises and lowers as needed, and hidden lighting for nighttime voyages.
